THE WORLD YOU WILL meet this evening when you come back home will be different than the one you left this morning when you got out.
Whilst you will have gone through the routines, pleasures, struggles and victories of your daily life,
… all within the course of a single day.
And this will carry on happening throughout the night, and tomorrow, and throughout the next day and every day.
The world in which we live is in a deep crisis that now affects all the dimensions of our life, both individual and collective.
It is, to take the words of the mild-mannered Eckart Tolle, ‘insane’ as the amount of suffering, destruction and what appears to be a complete absence of basic common sense has now grown to become ‘normal’ behaviour , something happening beyond the frontiers of what intelligence and sensitivity can truly comprehend.
The numbers are speaking a very dramatic story; the news, the media or the internet are speaking it; what we see in the streets of our cities, in our organisations or in our own families is speaking it; our own feelings, our own bodies, our heart and conscience are speaking it.
Are we listening?
Or, at least, are we willing to accept the idea that we have to start listening?
Are we prepared to respond by making some simple but essential changes in our life? Or have we shut ourselves in a mental box to such an extent that we have lost our sensitivity?
Today’s trends are more than alarming. They are messengers. They tell us our way of living is hurting the planet and humanity; it is hurting our loved ones; it is hurting ourselves.
Would we like to live a healthier life in a more sensible world? We can.
But before we look at the options, let’s overview the numbers. They are telling us it is due time to gather our courage and wake up to the call of the times.
