INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SOCIAL INNOVATION AND ITS ROLE IN A MODERNISED VIETNAM

January 17 2013 - ID International Education JSC attend the international conference on “Social Innovation and its role in a modernized Vietnam” at Grand Ballroom, Hilton Hotel - Hanoi.
“Social Innovation and its role in a modernized” was organized by British Council and Center Institute for Economic Management (CIEM). The program was set to raise awareness of a wide range of stakeholders from public, to private and civil society of the important of adopting social/ inclusive approach in innovation. There are 150 participants from Government organizations; donor communities; development organizations/INGOs, NGOs; public and private companies, media.
Dr Nguyen Dinh Cung, Vice President, CIEM, made a keynote speech on social innovation in Vietnam. He said about the current problems and an urgent need for social innovation in public sector and policy – making process.

This issue was clarified by the analysis of the real situation in some countries such as Thailand, Singapore, and the general trend worldwide.

Prof. Kriengsak Chareonwongsak - Senior Fellow at Harvard University USA, and Fellow at Said Business School- the University of Oxford, Prime Ministerial Advisor in Thailand, President of the Institute of Future Studies for Development- Thailand.

By sharing of Vietnam and International practices and an overview of the current stage of Inclusive Innovation for sustainable development, some recommendations were proposed to policy formulation.
